Spiridon y Filipides, con el halo de leyenda y mito de la Batalla de Maratón, no son si no dos ejemplos de perseverancia y resistencia a la hora de llevar a cabo toda una larga carrera. Nuestra particular “maratón” de seguridad privada se inició el pasado año 2011, con la aprobación de seis órdenes ministeriales. Desde algunos ámbitos se ha interpretado el anuncio como el final de la campaña terrorista. Sin embargo, y a pesar de la novedad de la terminología utilizada y de algunos rasgos coyunturales novedosos, los precedentes de otras treguas decretadas en el pasado obligan a extremar la cautela sobre el verdadero alcance de la decisión anunciada. Truckpol assists UK police forces by disseminating intelligence on criminals, hosting meetings between the police and the haulage industry and by assisting stakeholders by acting as a central point of contact for their enquiries. The purpose of this report is to provide an overview of the pattern of freight crime in the first quarter of 2010. Using data supplied to us by UK police forces and by haulage industry stakeholders we have provided an analysis of the nature and extend of freight crime in the UK.
