Being Faithful
What is being faithful? This is a question I have

I have huge mental
struggles when I don t feel like I am "doing"
anything for God.

Sam Cammie Gideon Being Faithful What is being faithful? This is a question I have mulled over a million times. I have huge mental struggles when I don t feel like I am "doing" anything for God. After a bit of time I am slowly reminded that being a Christian has nothing to do with our works, and everything to do with our relationship with God. This is a lesson that I have to learn over and over and over. I am a typical American. . . . . human, I want to be doing SOMETHING. Yet deep down I know that God s greatest desire is for me to have a real relationship with him. He wants me to speak with him and he wants to speak with me. He wants to give me joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, love, kindness, self control and so much more. He wants to share himself with me. What a privilege it is to have a GOD that desires relationship over works. I am not saying that works are no good. I am not saying that God does not want us to obey him, he absolutely requires that we obey h

The Beginnings
We are fast approaching two weeks in Craig

The Beginnings We are fast approaching two weeks in Craig and with lows in the -20 s we feel a world away from Haiti. I have to admit that, at times, more than the weather makes me long for Haiti. Haiti was full of opportunity, people everywhere, most of them wanting to talk with you. We had a clear purpose, we were there for Christ and everyone knew it. Here in Craig we have not lost our purpose, it s just harder to see. As we seek to live as disciples of Christ we are again turning to God to fill us in this time of limbo. We fully expect to see God move as we seek Him and make ourselves available. Very small beginnings are starting to happen. We have met neighbors in the yard, new friends at story time at the library and connected with old friends, all with the purpose of finding out where people are at in their relationship with God and introducing them to our Lord or helping them grow to be a sold out disciple of Christ. Anyone who knows me well, knows I am a homebody, but

Gideon and Azariah We are approaching two months in Haiti and the kids are doing fabulous. Gideon and Azariah both have quickly made new friends with the Bundy kids. Gideon plays mostly with Alanna who is 4 years old, but he loves the chance to play with 6 year old Jake and 7 year old Brianna. Azariah is only two weeks younger than Kristina and the two of them play together a most of the day. Unless it is raining the kids play outside. Gideon is quickly taking to Creole and can say good morning, good afternoon count to five and say various other words. Both of them joyfully greet anyone in sight and Gideon sends you all a boisterous “Bon Swa” and Azi sends a great big smile. Nutrition Project There is a Haitian proverb that says “Piti, piti zwazo fe nich” little by little the bird builds a nest. This has been true in almost everything we have done in Haiti. We have had our first meeting with a potential bakery, and have found that they are both interested and capable of produc

Our ministry in Haiti with OMS Haiti Diet Project We are so blessed to be a part of this team. NorthRidge church in Sabetha, KS has partnered with The Daily Bread Foundation for over two years now. This team has been actively working on a nutritional product that would address hunger issues in Haiti. After much hard work, the cooperation of a lot of intelligent people, and tons of blessings from God, they have come up with a “cookie. ” This cookie’s flour is from pigeon pea (a lentil) and millet (a grain sorghum), both readily available in Haiti. The cookie recipe has been modified many times, and we are currently looking at adding a mineral premix that would target the greatest nutritional deficiencies in the Haitian children. The next step is to do a nutritional research study on 2-5 year olds to document the effectiveness of the cookie. We have the privilege of being on the field implementing this project. Cammie’s responsibilities will be to complete the nutritional research
