Footpaths and nature trail This footpath has been created all along the Southern coast of La Couarde in order to walk across the dunes and along the 5 km long beach while respecting the fragile environment. Enjoy the great overview on the Pertuis d’Antioche ! For the children the nature trail “La dune et ses secrets” has been created on a part of the footpath along the coast for the children to discover wildlife and flora. This booklet is available at the Town Hall or at the Tourist Office. THE FOOTPATH ALONG THE COAST In a vineyard landscape, the island becomes narrower and we can rapidly link the two coasts in the North facing La Fosse de Loix and the Pertuis Breton, in the South facing the Pertuis d’Antioche. START : Peu Ragot beach (southern coast) . Yellow marking. Take the path at the end of the car park, it gives access to the Peu Ragot beach. Walk along the beach down to the Peu Bernard way. When you arrive behind the dunes protection, follow the path, pass by the water

Walk along the beach down to the Peu Bernard way. When you arrive behind the dunes protection, follow the path, pass by the water tower then cross the D 201 road At the pumping station turn right then left. After a few meters on the little road, walk on a path. Cross the D 735, follow it on the right and take the first path on the left. We reach the ocean (northern coast). Take the cycle on the left. Follow it* for 1,8 km up to the sailing school. Walk on along a football field and cross the cycle path. Take the path on the right between vineyards and farmlands. I
