William J. Lewis Page 1 7/13/2010 The Eastern Bluebird, Sialia sialis Declaration and designation of Plumsted Township official township bird Description: Size: 6 to 8 inches (16-21 cm) Wingspan: 10 to 13 inches (25-32 cm) Weight: . 99 to 1. 13 ounces (28-32 g) The Eastern Bluebird is resident east of the Rocky Mountains. The male’s head, back, wings, and tail are bright blue. His throat, breast, and sides are rusty red. The belly is white. The female resembles the male but is duller and grayer. Habitat requirements: Plumsted Township has prime habitat for bluebirds. Bluebird’s needs are best met by open rural areas. The amount of open space and farmland preservation in Plumsted lends to the record abundance and highly productive bluebird trials within its borders. Many reports from the citizens of Plumsted report successful breeding pairs of bluebirds on private property.

The Plumsted Township Fireworks Display Fund Help Us Celebrate This Independence Day We would like to invite you to be a part of our Ninth Annual Rockin Fireworks and Concert Event. We are very proud to host this event each year as it has become a traditional part of the Independence Day Celebration. Attended by thousands each year, it gives so many opportunities to the many civic groups, charitable organizations and sports programs to promote and raise funds. The activities, vendors and attractions along with the headline entertainment make it the perfect venue for branded or corporate exposure. Our American Legion Post 455 always shouldered the responsibility for concert and fair. But the star of the show must always be the Fireworks. It’s just not the 4th of July without Fireworks. Due to the economic cutbacks at all levels of government this year we must look to our business community for help in funding our fireworks display this year. We are looking for any and all parti
