NEW ALUMINIUM TONNEAU COVERS EGR’s new checker plate Aluminium Tonneau Covers are a great, practical solution to providing a tough, sturdy yet lockable cargo area. The product is designed to be water resistant, keeping the cargo underneath protected from the elements. “EGR has employed its technical know-how and experience from working on thousands of Automotive OEM projects to bring this quality item to market. What’s more, the strong aluminium frame is able to take loads of up to 100kg on top of the Tonneau Cover and the durable checker plate and powder coated finishes are perfect for ensuring maximum scratch resistance,” said Brandon Miller, the Senior Project and Sales Manager for EGR Automotive. “The product is very user friendly with gas assisted lifting struts and a secure lockable quarter turn spring loaded latching system that locks the Tonneau Cover to the vehicle in two locations,maximising security,” said Brandon. The National 4x4 Offroad and Outdoors Expo in Brisbane, Australia, in March 2010 proved the perfect venue to showcase EGR’s product range to the Australian automotive aftermarket industry. More than 35,000 people attended the three-day expo, labelled by show organisers as the most successful ever held in Brisbane. The EGR display of accessories attracted strong interest and helped to promote brand awareness to a whole new retail orientated market. Several vehicles including a Toyota Hilux 4X4 and a Holden VE Ute displayed the multiple products on offer. Proving most popular were the Aluminium Checker Plate Hard Tonneau Covers, Soft Tonneau Covers, alloy Bull Bars and Hilux “NO DRILL” Fender Flares. Since the success of the Brisbane expo, full-scale point of purchase and light box displays have also been produced and are being progressively delivered to distributor outlets Australia-wide. In addition a new website, egrauto. com will go live in July providing online product reviews
