Once a year La Salle organizes an art festival where all the school participate, every student choose a category in which they can participate we can choose between many categories like: cake decoration, oratory, declamation of poetry, singing contest, modeling clay, confection of clothing with recycling materials, decoration of piñatas, motivational spot, poster making, creation of masks, playing instruments, innovative ideas to help the environment. The main topic of this year was building a pacific Mexico so all the projects had to be focus on that topic. I find this festival really interesting because is our opportunity to show all our creative instincts that usually we don’t show or we don’t know that we have and surprise everybody else and even ourselves. We had a culture week at the middle of second semester, so the Project was about Reading, because we are the lower country in Reading tests, so we had this week, and the principal objective was to read a book, to motivate and to create a new atmosphere into our classroom, something like a Book land. Every classroom chose a topic, an idea about their decoration, we used the animals to promote Reading, and also we pasted like a little books on the roof of our classroom, we also made some quotes about Reading. Something interesting, I think it was the first time ever we worked as a group. As a team, for the first time I could see all my classmates working together and of course my classroom was the best one. Take a look. The action took place at the auditory called “Fidel Mendez”, located at the most faraway part of our school, right behind of the buildings of elementary and kinder garden, along with some administration offices; beside the fountain of the Virgin. The people in general charge of the event were the women from “pastoral” division, along with service staff and music teachers from all sections: such as Gonzalo from high school and Eric Delgadillo from junior high and elementary school. This expo was a total success, all the students were showing their product and showing all the people, teachers and parents all the effort and time that they needed to take this Project to a real company. There were many kinds of products, there were for women and for men, also there were for kids, they had different smells and you could choose the one you prefer. All ten students shared their soap so the audience will know it and also they gave little souvenirs to all the people. In the end, even though the students were very stressed and tired it was all worth it because their project was an absolute success.

All about school is coming to an end, all about tests, papers due days, projects and piles of homework. We can’t wait no more for the upcoming celebrations and the holy vacations, but I truly think that 3rd graders are the most excited about this. Why? Because it’s the end of freaking high school! We’re no longer kids or teens, we are now young adults ready to go out and eat the world in just one bite. And we’re heading to college, to those big places where you can be whoever you want, a fresh start. A brand new experience studying just what we want and need, no more useless calculus or economics (yay!). And yes, this has been quite a special year, we’ve made new friends, reconnected with old ones, found out more about ourselves, and hey, I’m sure some of us found a cheesy special someone A
