KCLS Game On! Analysis Julie Hiers June 1, 2011 Introduction Since 2006, King County Library System’s teen gaming program, Game On, has been active in 24 to 27 community libraries. In April and May, information was gathered in order to evaluate the program and to create a working definition for successful Game On programs. With this definition in mind, we can assess a program and consider options for changes. Methodology Information about Game On was gathered in the form of surveys, activity logs, interviews and on-site observations. An online survey was sent to all teen librarians and a paper survey was distributed to teens attending programs. In addition, libraries were asked to record activities during sessions during a month’s time. Visits to libraries to observe how they set up Game On! and interview librarians and staff provided valuable insights. Results Online staff survey An online survey (http://www. surveymonkey. com/s/JTS8TMR) with 10 questions pertaining to the deta

Lindsey Davis Read‐Alikes LIS 524/Winter 2010 Julie Hiers Lindsey Davis Lindsey Davis’ mysteries attract fans of both historical fiction as well as whodunits due to their combination of appealing characters and rich period details. Her Marcus Didius Falco Series showcases her flair for witty dialogue between recognizable characters, including Falco’s family and assorted villains and suspects. The loving yet realistic relationship between cynical Marcus and his charming wife Helena is portrayed with humor and respect. Ancient Roman culture is brought to life by lush descriptions of surroundings, food and dress. In See Delphi and Die (St. Martin’s Minotaur, 2006), murder and sightseeing merge when Falco and family visit Greece for an investigation and encounter the eternal troubles of travelers every‐ where: questionable food, hard beds and foul weather. Davis has also penned two novels on the English civil war, but the 19 Falco books are her claim to fame. F
