Children's Day &
Mother's Day
at the Garden
Join us in the Garden for a celebration of Children's Day--a tribute to the happiness and future
success of all children.
This family event features a variety of entertainment, including taiko
drumming, raising of koi nobori, Japanese storytelling, and traditional Japanese singing and dancing.
Hands-on activities include ikebana, sumi-e brush painting, taste of tea for children, origami, koi
viewing, haiku path, and a bonsai display.

On May 13, the Garden will host our annual Mother's Day event.
This time-honored holiday in
America is celebrated at the Garden with a presentation of teas, a make-a-Mother's-Day card table for
kids, live music, and special Gift Store offerings.
We invite everyone to come and enjoy the Garden as
we pay tribute to mothers everywhere.
