The Waikiki Gateway Hotel The Waikiki Gateway Hotel is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. It is just 3 blocks from Waikiki Beach and one mile from Aloa Moana Shopping Center. It is adjacent to Fort Derussy Park and is a beautiful high rise building. There are numerous features starting with a business center, an outdoor pool with a small waterfall and Nick's Fish market who also hosts live music on the weekends. The penthouse room at the hotel is super nice with generous closets a super view and a very large flat panel TV screen. Also the showers in every room stay hot even during a lengthy shower, a great plus for an aging but reasonably priced hotel on the islands. At the hotel children seventeen and under can stay free, there is a laundry service, there is parking nearby that is free, the parking on the premises is $15. 70 per day. There is luggage storage, a meeting room, that offers pre-planned meals for a fee, and a gift shop. The lobby of the hotel is over-sized and has beautiful hardwood floors waxed to perfection, with dimmer lights installed in the ceiling and ample numbers of padded benches for sitting. The restaurant offers table and chair dining, with table cloths and high backed captain's chairs. The meeting facility is actually a long room with a projector screen for your guests and seating at a table with blue upholstered chairs. The pool is outdoors and is surrounded by the sunshine and palm trees of Hawaii. It has a small waterfall, ladders for climbing in and out of the pool and plenty of lounge chairs for reclining around the pool's water and watching the waterfall, if you like. The hotel is nine miles from Honolulu International airport. To reach the hotel from the airport you depart from the airport on H1 East. Take Nimitz Highway, which turns into Ala Moana Boulevard. Turn right onto Kalakaua Avenue. Kalakaua Avenue splits onto Kuhio Avenue. Turn onto Kuhio Avenue. The hotel is located on the right. Also adjacent to the park is Gateway Park, along with, as said before, Derussy Park. Just one mile from the hotel is the Ala Wai golf course, three miles away is the Honolulu Acacemy of Arts and you can view Diamond Head Crater just three miles from the hotel.
