AGREEMENT TO EXTEND THE TERMS OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN IRVINE CITY EMPLOYEE ASSOCIATION AND CITY OF IRVINE The Irvine City Employee Association (ICEA) and the City of Irvine (City) agree to extend the terms of the 2006-2008 Memorandum of Understanding for the period of July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009 with the following amendments: Article XIV - Salary: D. 4. Wage and Salary Range Adjustment (Add to Existing Language) Effective the payroll period that includes July 1, 2008, the salary ranges of the classifications covered by this Agreement and the base salary of employees in the bargaining unit who are actively employed as of July 1, 2008, shall be increased by four percent (4%. ) Article XVIII - Benefits (Insert New Band C and Re-number Remainder of Provisions D through I) B. Effective January 1, 2009 employees will have the option of enrolling themselves and/or their dependents into a no-cost medical plan rather than being subject to the cap as set forth in Article XVIII, item A. , above. Under the no-cost plan, the City will provide any HMO Medical Plan and any HMO Dental Plan offered by the City, as described in Article XVIII, item A. , above. Under this option, employees may choose to upgrade from the HMO Dental Plan to the PPO Dental Plan, however the employee will be required to pay the difference in premium between the HMO Dental Plan and the PPO Dental Plan. C. Beginning with the first pay period in July 2008, the cost provisions of Article XVIII. Item B. , above, will apply to employees enrolled for calendar year 2008 in an HMO Medical Plan. Article XX - Leaves: E. Personal Leave/Family Sick Leave (Add to Existing Language) Effective only during the pay period that includes July 1, 2008, each active employee shall be credited with an additional twenty-four (24) hours of Personal Leave. This leave may be carried over to the next year and used anytime during the employee s full-time employment
