Reg Wheatley who lives in Chislehurst celebrated
his 100th birthday at Crayford Stadium.
He first
visited the stadium in 1939 and still attends most
weeks.

Reg Wheatley who lives in Chislehurst celebrated
his 100th birthday at Crayford Stadium.
He first
visited the stadium in 1939 and still attends most
weeks.
Staff at the track laid on a special race and
presentation in honour of the special milestone.
Reg said: “I really enjoy my Saturday mornings at
the track.
The staff here are lovely and helpful and
the atmosphere is always good.
The stadium has
changed so much over the years.
You used to have
to stand outside in all sorts of weather.
Now I love
sitting in the restaurant to watch the racing in
comfort!
Reg used to attend with his wife of nearly 70 years
but she passed away in 1999 and he comes along
with friends Wally and Connie Bailey.

lovely way to celebrate my birthday and I want to
thank everyone at the track but especially Len
Stephens, Jamie Mavrais and Chris Bashford.
”
