any renewal or improvement and development
proposals for the town and surrounding area,

that may arise in the future.

Warning
about stolen
equipment
The Council has issued a safety warning after
thieves stole specialist asbestos removal equipment from the old changing rooms at Hall Place,
Bexley.
Specialist contractors are removing asbestos
from the building before it is demolished.
The
Council is warning local people not to buy the
stolen equipment if it is offered to them, because
it is contaminated with asbestos.
Thieves stole various items from the site during
the day on Tuesday and on Wednesday and
Thursday nights last week, despite the fact the
site is fenced off and all the equipment locked
away - and in some cases padlocked up overnight.
The stolen items included five specialist vacuum
cleaners and a ‘wash down’ boxed trailer, which
the contractors were using to decontaminate
themselves after working inside the building.
Each of the specialist vacuum cleaners is yellow
and cylindrical with a black top.
They were of
various sizes, but typically about 700mm high
and 400mm in diameter.
They operate from a
110V power supply and need a transformer to
work from mains power.
The ‘wash down’ trailer includes a special air
lock, a wash room/shower and generator.
The
thieves also stole a specialist reciprocating saw.
Anyone who is offered any of the stolen items is
asked to call the Metropolitan Police on 0300
123 1212, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800
555 111, or use the secure form on the
Crimestoppers’ website at www.
crimestoppersuk.
