surrounded at the corners by 4 marble pillars, forming canopy.
That is here that was the tombs of Saint-Girons, cult and
veneration object of numerous Pilgrims.
Some stone elements
came to complete these shafts of marble, to support capitals
richly sculptured, themselves carrying a vault.
The base of the
pillars has varied decorative elements… All around the crypt,
there is a bench of stone which measures around 50 cm high,
that is used as a place of predilection, prayer and peace for the
pilgrims.
