Nearly half of all micro businesses in the UK do not have a website, according to
new research.
Bristol, UK, June 05, 2009 -- Internet specialist, 1&1 Internet, has revealed that
a staggering 46 per cent of micro firms in the UK ? defined as small businesses
with five employees or less ? do not have a website.
This is despite the fact that 41 per cent of those surveyed recognise that a
website could increase their sales.
Cost, time and a perceived lack of expertise are the main reasons that small firms
have yet to develop their own website.
Many businesses, the survey reveals, are
overestimating the costs and time involved and they are not aware of the website
packages that could get them online quickly and without spending a fortune.
