Silicon Designs Unveils High Performance Low Noise Version of Universal Tri-Axial
Accelerometer
SDI?s new 2470 triaxial accelerometer module offers increased operating temperature
range and tighter tolerances.
Issaquah, WA, June 01, 2009 -- Silicon Designs, Inc.
has begun production of its
new model 2470 triaxial accelerometer module.
The 2470 combines the universal
flexibility of the widely popular 2460 and the higher performance abilities of the
2440 into one low cost module.
This makes the 2470 user friendly and suitable for
a diverse range of applications, but also ideal for projects that demand precision
over a large spectrum of conditions.
The 2470 module is tailored for zero to medium frequency instrumentation
applications with a rugged anodized aluminum case and three orthogonally mounted
model 1221L accelerometers.
The 2470 responds to DC and AC acceleration, operates
from -55 to +110°C, with ranges available from ± 2 to ± 200 g full scale
acceleration.
It supports +8 to +32V DC power, yet maintains low power
consumption.
Low impedance outputs (±4V Differential or 0.
5V to 4.
5V Single Ended)
will drive up to 15 meters of cable.
On-board voltage regulation and an internal
voltage reference eliminate the need for precision power supplies.
Orders for the 2470 are being accepted and it is currently in production.
Custom
specifications and quantity discounts are available.
All of SDI?s products are
made in the USA.

About Silicon Designs, Inc.
:
Since its inception in 1983, SDI?s core competency has always been accelerometers,
and the philosophy of "Make it better, stronger, smaller, and less expensive" is
maintained to this day.
SDI received the prestigious Tibbetts Award in 1997 from
the Small Business Administration and was inducted into the Space Technology Hall
of Fame in 1999.
SDI specializes in commercial-grade accelerometers such as those
used in automobile crash detection and stability testing, identifying unusual
vibrations in race cars and airplane engines, and monitoring structural integrity
in bridges, hydroelectric power generators, and wind farm turbines.
SDI?s
miniature accelerometer technology is currently used by the US Military, NASA, and
in the automotive, transportation, and agricultural industries.
