An Insiders Review of the best London hotel, restaurant , club and river cruise
options for shared Office Christmas parties in 2009
London, UK, October 09, 2009 -- London is once again awash with shared Office
Christmas Party Offers from restaurants, hotels, bars and river cruises but which
ones are best for Christmas parties where not everyone is necessarily going to be
into the theme and where other factors like how good the food is and whether there
is a disco and dancing afterwards are going to be just as important.
Read below
and hear the inside track courtesy of Christmas.
Hotel based shared office parties tend to be the most expensive but they often come
with ballrooms (with late licence) and galley kitchens used to doing large
functions like weddings.
On the negative side hotels are often poor at entertainment
so be careful to check out which shows they have bought in.
Of the hotel based
themed parties the 70s /80s dicso themed party New Connaught Rooms Abba Reunion
party is great value.
Reasonably priced for a hotel event at £65 per head and the
entertainment is top notch.
The New Connaught Rooms is also known for producing
quality food.
No rubber turkeys here and a decent late licence too.
Roll on
Fernando.
Christmas Confidential also likes the Bloomsbury Hotel James Bond themed
night.
Food look exceptionally good and at £75 +VAT with courtesy glass of
champagne is good value by West End Hotel standards anyway.
All rounded off by dancing till 1am after Bar and restaurant shared office parties
tend to be the best value and you know the food will be good because they are
serving it day in day out.
Watch out though for the quality of entertainment as
hiring in a couple of tired old circuit entertainers who cannot get bookings
elsewhere is not going to make a Christmas party go off with a bang and whether
there is a late licence /disco thrown in.
.
Of the burlesque cabaret and comedy
themed shared Christmas party nights Peacock Bar in Clapham Junction?s ?Put Your
Boss on The Stage? night looks outstanding A three course traditional Christmas
turkey dinner or lunch for £25 (food only) with six burlesque cabaret shows, a host
and a photographer all thrown in.
A cheesey disco afterwards till the small hours
of the morning and a speed dating tables for any office singletons completes an
excellent package.
Available for exclusive or shared Christmas parties lunch or
dinner from December 1st onwards.
As a multiple award winning venue the
entertainment should be top notch too.
On a dance And regional tip Christmas Confidential likes the Cuban Camden .
A
three course meal for £35 albeit somewhat un Christmas like apart from the
Christmas pudding remains true to the venues Cuban roots.
With a 1am, licence
weekdays and a 2am licence Friday and Saturdays there is plenty of time to knock
back a few cocktails after.
For salsa fans Bar Salsa is a good option at only £26
per head but their food is reputedly not quite as good as the salsa lessons they
provide before and salsa dancing after.
Turkey tornadoes anyone.
.
Now for something entirely different ??.
Medieval banquets seem to be having a bit
off a comeback these days something to do with Lord of The Rings no doubt.
Avoid
all the hotels trying this one and head straight to The Medieval banquet at Ivory
House in Smithfield.
They do this week in week out and it is first rate and at £55
per head that includes unlimited beer and wine during dinner.
Only grumble is that 12am is a bit of an early finish and it can be hard to arrange
Finally river cruises also remain stubbornly popular although quite why given that
its night time and rather chilly at Christmas remains to be seen.
Christmas
Confidential is not really a fan of these the food suffers from being made in a
cramped space, someone always gets left at dockside and licencing laws means
