It is one of the most visited tourist spots in the country by local, national and
global tourists.
Adorned with a royal charm and developing metropolis nature, this city is an
amalgamation of tradition and modernity.
Popularly known as the ‘Pink City’, due to the hue
reflected by historical monuments at sunset, Jaipur derives its name from the warrior and
astronomer King Sawai Jai Singh II (ruled from 1750-68) who founded it.
It was India’s first
planned city which was designed by a Bengali architect named Vidyadhar Bhattacharya in
accordance with ancient Hindu treatise on architecture, the Shilpa Shastra (Vasstu).
