ACU golfer racks up 11 wins
bilene Christian sophomore
alex Carpenter was named the
southern Golf association’s
National Amateur of the Month for March.
he also won the award last october, when
he won four straight tournaments.
In March, Carpenter won the NCAA
Division II Golfweek invitational at
Reunion Resort near orlando.
he also
won the Dallas Baptist invitational by
two shots at the GC of Dallas with a
5-under 205 in rough weather.
the two victories gave Carpenter 11
titles in less than two full seasons at ACU.
the reigning southern amateur champ,
Carpenter is scheduled to defend that
prestigious title in the 105th Southern Am
at innisbrook Resort near tampa in July.
LPGA stars headed to Houston
ore than 40 LPGA tour players
on May 16 will take part in the
Randall’s for kids Charity
Pro-am at the oaks and Panther trail
courses at The Woodlands-Canongate.
