“Sylvia” Stars at Auburn University Theater

After closing off the grandeur of a full-scale production of “Cabaret,” Auburn
University’s theater department is moving to a smaller, but just as engaging show.

Stucky, a sophomore performance major with the theater department, talked about the
upcoming production “Sylvia” and her involvement in it.
“I’m involved in Auburn University theater’s production of ‘Sylvia,’” Stucky said.
“It’s a
show about a middle-aged couple in New York City, and the husband’s kind of going
through a midlife crisis.
”
He has a unique solution for this crisis, too.
“He finds a dog in the park and he brings it home,” Stucky said.
“The dog is kind of an
allegory for the other woman, and his wife gets really jealous.
It’s just a really funny
story about how they deal with this new relationship.
”
The cast for this production is not a huge ensemble.
Stucky is one of only four actors
involved.
“I play Kate, Greg’s wife,” Stucky said.
