BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Bloodborne Pathogens Program is to reduce occupational exposure to
Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and other bloodborne pathogens
that employees may encounter in their workplace as per OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens
Standard, codified as 29 CFR 1910.

SCOPE ColonialWebb Contractors’ Bloodborne Pathogens Program applies to all company employees. I. EXPOSURE CONTROL PLAN The company has implemented this Exposure Control Plan to meet the letter and intent of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. The objective of this plan is twofold: A. To protect our employees from the health hazards associated with bloodborne pathogens. B. To provide appropriate treatment and counseling should an employee be exposed to bloodborne pathogens. II. AVAILABILITY OF THE EXPOSURE CONTROL PLAN TO EMPLOYEES The company’s Exposure Control Plan is available to employees at any time in this section of the safety manual. Employee

PURPOSE To document the Company’s policy on “competent person” requirements related to the work performed by employees on large construction sites and special projects. II. SCOPE This policy applies to all work performed by ColonialWebb Contractors’ employees. III. PROCEDURE It is very important for employees and supervisors to understand the responsibilities of being designated as a competent person. A competent person is one who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees, and who has authorization to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them. The competent person in most all cases must be on site to make evaluations and in some conditions, must remain at the work activity for the duration of the work. Because of this priority, we maintain a formal Safety & Risk control program that will help prevent job-related accidental injuries and illnesses while performing work duties, operating equipment and vehicles. We also choose to eliminate or reduce any other loss producing conditions that we may encounter to ensure a safe workplace at all times. No function of our organization is so critical as to require or justify a compromise of safety.
