Besides acknowledging the translators, a brief description on his impressive personality and his scientific life is given in the preface where also the papers are grouped together and their selection is motivated. It is fascinated to read these papers which concerns besides of fundamental theoretical developments, also very useful methods for application.

In the period between the birth of quantum mechanics and the late 1950s, V.A. Fock wrote papers that are now deemed classics.
